First Generation Intamin Freefall Ride
Website Version

One of the most notorious ride hacks of all time is finally going to be released to you. This ride is: The First Generation Intamin Freefall Ride. Click here for pic of real ride.

WARNING: This ride hack is a very complicated one, and is very tedious. If you are not familiar with the 8 Cars Per Trainer and its track merging process, I strongly recommend that you do not do this hack. It is extremely important that you follow these directions exactly as I have said, otherwise your ride may not work.

First of all, in your park you will need the Twister and the Vertical Drop roller coasters selected. We will start off doing the front spike.

1. Build the bottom track with the station going away from the tower and towards the spike. The spike should be 20 feet tall when done, and the tower, which was built backwards, should be 120 feet tall. As you build the tower, make sure that you make it go vertical like a sharp turn, instead of using the piece that goes horizontal to steep slope.

2. Next we build the top track, which should be started 15 feet high. Build it out as much as possible, and you must use the gradual sloping piece. When done with steps 1 & 2, it should look like this:

3. Now we have to paint different sections of track to different color schemes. In the front we’ll use Alternative Color Scheme 1. On the bottom track, paint all track pieces that stopped the top track from being finished.

4. Using the trainer, Raise the bottom track alternative color 1 12 Units high. (Refer to picture after step 6)

5. Build the top track three pieces forward in this order (flat, flat-to-slope up, slope up), and paint only the sloping up piece in alternative color 1. (Refer to picture after step 6)

6. Lower all pieces except the last one from the bottom track down back to their original positions.

7. Paint the track that was just lowered with the main color scheme, and the piece that you left up into alternative color scheme #1. Build a “flat-to-slope-up” piece before the sloping piece, and then make that the alternative color #1 also. See below:

8. Now we move on to the top track hacking… Using the trainer, raise the piece that you already colored up 12 units. Build backwards one piece, keeping the slope, then paint the new piece alternative color #1, and lower the two back to their original place.

9. When the track is together, delete the piece of the top track that is a constant slope up; it should be the last piece. Now paint the second to last piece alternative color 1. There should be two pieces that interlock that are both painted alternative color 1 (see below-left). Using the trainer, raise those pieces up 12 units high. Right click on the track piece, and build forward one piece, it should be a continuous sloping piece of track (see below-right). Lower these pieces back into place, and it should look the same as before this step, but work differently (see-below left).

Congratulations, the first hack is finally done, don’t worry, the tower is actually easier to do.

Now we’re working on the tower part of the hacking. This is much shorter, and a lot easier, so if you struggled through the first part, don’t worry, it gets easier.

1. Make sure that the bottom track’s tower is painted alternative color #2. Only the vertical part needs to be painted. Using the trainer, raise alternative color 2 of the bottom track up 24 units. It should look like this:

Posted Image

2. Now finish building the top track, it should go vertically in the same square until it gets to 120 feet high, the same as the bottom track used to be at. Make ALL new pieces built into alternative color #2 pieces.

Posted Image Posted Image

3. Lower the alternative color #2 pieces of the bottom track back into their original positions. Paint all vertical pieces up to the TOP of the intersection into the main color scheme. (see below – red is main color)

Posted Image

4. Using the trainer, raise all alternative color #2 pieces of the bottom track back up 24 units. Make a piece at the bottom that goes from vertical to steep slope (see below). Paint that new piece as alternative color #2 and lower all alternative color #2 pieces from the bottom track back to their original positions.

The back tower should now be hacked successfully, except your still not done yet. Now we have to set up brakes so that your people don’t go flying off the spike like a ramp.

1. On the top track, paint the last 5 FLAT pieces alternative color #3. Using the trainer, raise alternative color #3 pieces of track up 12 units.

2. Delete all pieces except the one closest to the tower.

Posted Image

3. We’re going to make 4 pieces of track with brakes after the regular flat piece. The speeds for the brakes should be, in this order, (22mph, 22mph, 18mph, 13mph). Now lower these 5 track pieces back into place.

The track for this hack is finally done!!! But the whole ride isn’t finished. It still won’t work correctly without the next few steps.

There are a few more hacks that we have to do in order to make this ride work.

Still in the “Edit Ride Stats” part of the trainer, we have to change a few options for the ride

1. You should make the following categories set in the following ways…

Train Type: Vertical Drop Roller Coaster
Operating Mode: Freefall Drop Mode
# Trains: 1
# Cars: 1

Now the ride should work correctly, and as close as possible to looking correct, except for the glitchy colors. In order to fix the colors, do the following:

2. Make all four colors for the top track match each other.
3. Make all colors except alternative color #3 on the bottom track match the top track’s colors.

You’re finally done with the whole ride; it should look something like this:

Thanks to ja227 for making the 8 cars per trainer.

You have put alot of effort in writing this tutorial but it is very complicated and hard to follow. I can't do it because I don't like hacking because it screws up the game.

CC, which part didn't work for you?
Xophe, it's a very complicated hack, so it can easily get confusing...was there any part in particular that you didn't understand?

As I said, this is for those who have lots of experience with track merging in the 8 Cars Trainer. If you can't do a regular track merge, don't try this.

Yay! I got it to work!
However, in step 7 (for the track, not the tower) you forgot to mention to lower the track down again.

Is it possible to save a track design like this so you don't have to go through all the steps again when building another?

Oops, well, it's pretty much self explanitory that you need to lower it again. O well, nobody's 100% perfect...i guess i'm 99.9% then. But I'm glad you got it to work.

no, sadly there isn't a way to save the track design like any other ride, because it actually involves 2 tracks.

Has anyone else gotten this to work yet? Or if you can't get it, do you have any questions about what you did wrong?

I've only been hacking rides for about a month now and I happened to get this one very quickly after I learned how to do the skycoaster hack. Both are pretty easy once you learn how to do it properly. I should be releasing my own tutorial pretty soon on how to combine raising/lowering and zero tolerances to make this and the skycoaster hack a much easier task. Look forward to that in a week or so.
